THE ARC
The Arc of Placer County is an affiliated chapter of The Arc and works closely with The Arc of California. The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. They encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities.
THE CENTER FOR FUTURE PLANNING
The Center’s first step in supporting and encouraging families and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to plan for the future. Having a plan is important especially after the parent or caregiver can no longer provide support.
The Center’s website provides reliable information and assistance to individuals with I/DD, their family members and friends, and disability professionals on:
- Person-centered planning
- Decision-making
- Housing options
- Financial planning
- Employment and daily activities
- Making social connections
BECOME AN ADVOCATE
As federal and state administrations change, so do budgets and funding priorities. Occasionally we will post important issues that affect our agency and the individuals we serve. For regular alerts, please connect with The Arc and The Arc of California.
