Avenues Independent Living Services is unique in its commitment to help individuals try new things, make choices, and take responsibility in order to build a fulfilling and well-balanced life. Individuals served by Avenues will gain a sure understanding of how to make their world work for them. They will experience the exhilaration of pride as they grow to accomplish, independently, those things many take for granted: accessing their own funds, purchasing a desired item, and using the bus to get to the doctor’s office. Through program supports they will expand their living options, maintain a higher standard of living, find themselves looking forward to acquiring new skills and abilities enabling them to tap in to their world.
How We Do It
Avenues Independent Living Services delivers support to achieve all life’s basic skills such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, paying bills, scheduling appointments, mobility, phone skills, social connections, and more.
Assessing an individual’s level of skill and designing a unique plan tailored to assist that individual in achieving the greatest level of independence possible, and providing support in areas where the maximum reached potential requires assistance.
Employing a step-by-step approach to building skills, gaining knowledge, and developing confidence.
Making daily choices directed towards a self-determined, independent lifestyle.
Who We Are
Avenues Independent Living Services is funded by Alta California Regional Center and serves 30 young to elder adults, including couples, in a one staff to one adult support ratio. All individuals being served have been diagnosed with a developmental disability and are clients of Alta California Regional Center. Services are available year round, Monday through Friday, and flexible to the needs of the family.
Location
Avenues Independent Living Service is located in Placer County, one of the fastest growing counties in California. The Program provides home-based and community-based training throughout the county and surrounding areas.
